“Fearless”

Job 39:19-22

“Do you give the horse its strength
or clothe its neck with a flowing mane?
Do you make it leap like a locust,
striking terror with its proud snorting?
It paws fiercely, rejoicing in its strength,
and charges into the fray.
It laughs at fear, afraid of nothing.”

The horse's courage does not come from within himself, it comes from his Maker. We'd like to think, like little children, that we do thing all by ourselves, but elders laugh at that naivety, knowing the truth of it. All it takes is one moment of helpless desperation and rescue from a savior outside of ourselves to help us see this. But that is nothing to be sad about, no, it's something to rejoice in! Not only do we not have to carry the weight of the world on our own shoulders, but we can also rest in the fact that the One who DOES actually oversee our life is perfect and all powerful...not even a good spouse can provide us with that amount of security. That is what enables us to snort, paw at the ground, leap and charge into the fray of trouble...with a beauty obvious to others too.

“and in no way alarmed by *your opponents—which is a sign of destruction for them, but of salvation for you, and this too, *from God.” Philippians 1:28

Your “enemies” or trials will be destroyed and you should know it...so don't be alarmed...your fearless stature will reflect that of the more trusting horse. I see this stature more in the faithful aged than younger, simply because of the years and years of God proof they've experienced quickening the trusting and carefree reaction to trials. That's something I welcome with the grey hair and wearing frame. But the young can have it too, now, without waiting. It just takes a slightly larger mustard seed than the old fella next to you.

The spiritual and physical advantages to fearlessness are immeasurable. The only thing we need fear is God...and not in the terrifying fear sense...but rather in the respectful and awe filled sort. The kind only perfect God can provide.

Kick up some dust.

Do not fear.
