“Morning Mercies”

I am completely, a morning person. Mornings are full of energy, hope and strength, for me. The earlier, the better...within reason...4am is the earliest I will jump out of bed. My best time .

Likewise, the darkness of night time envelopes my heart and soul, like a sad and hopeless prison. My emotions take hold of me and everything seems grim and overwhelming. Everyone else in my family are in party mode at night, while I am limping to the finish line...9pm.

That's all OK though, because in the bleak evening hours, I know that His mercies are new every morning, and morning is always right around the corner. I can ride the energy wave of the rest of the nocturnal creatures in my house and crash on the shores of my comfy bed, with the joy and peace of His morning promise.

If you are NOT a morning person, you too can rest in this promise...the mercy part is specifically for you. He will provide you with the strength to get up, and the grace of the coffee cup. Maybe even the mercy of a smiling face to greet you (no talking) and a little time to sit and stare at a wall before having to function at all.

Either way, mornings are a bright gift from God and we all should be grateful that we have been given breath to see one more.
